About Me

Well this whole blog is about me, so I think writing anymore about myself would be a tad too much :D

Heat of the moment

Unfortunately last week in London things went very, very wrong. The riots have left their mark through businesses that  have been ruined, homes that have been destroyed and the lives that have been lost for something that didn't need to happen.

Riots in London lasted four days
On Saturday I was at work largely unaware of all that was going on. Only in the early hours of Monday morning I got a BB broadcast message saying that shops in Ealing (an area close to me) where indeed getting smashed.

All day Monday was spent with me flicking between BBC news and Sky news, in all honesty it was more shock than anything else. It came and spread so fast.  Watching the different areas getting ruined, the new problems being created, buildings just being lit on fire, shops that had just been smashed into. A JD sports shop that was all open with people just walking in, and out with stuff...it was surreal.
The image of the furniture store in Croydan is not a nice one. It was on fire for a long time, watching it get worse came with a feeling of disbelief.

Prayers to everyone who got caught up in these riots, now including Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester.
